Yamaha 2 stroke golf carts need the crank seals changed about every 7 years. A leaky seal on a Yamaha will usually cause a lack of power and give you hard time starting. Yamaha 4 stroke carts have good seals they are long lasting but it always a good idea to change them when you refresh the motor.
